Owner and Inspector, Mike Jacobs

Mike has been interested in how things work since childhood. Since age 4, he began helping his grandfather fix lawnmowers. He was involved in many phases of home construction since his teens. At the same time, he began working on automobiles, and has maintained a lifelong interest in restoring classic cars and trucks. His earliest jobs were in the fields of automotive mechanics and machinist design which helped hone his assessment and problem-solving skills. Later, his interests evolved into learning about heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. He graduated from Pennco Tech and became a certified HVAC technician. He holds several prestigious certifications including NATE. In the mechanical services field, he quickly became known as a “troubleshooter,” the go-to person who could figure out problems and solutions when no one else could.

Eventually, Mike’s vast experience in all phases of home construction and mechanical systems led to a desire to help homeowners make educated decisions about the houses they purchase. He attended The Home Inspection Institute and became NJ certified and licensed in home inspection, as well as radon detection and wood-destroying insect inspection. He has been happily assisting homeowners make informed decisions about their home purchases ever since.

Mike draws from his lifetime of experiences during each home inspection he performs. Paying close attention to detail, he assesses the strengths and weaknesses of each home-pointing out possible serious issues as well as those that may need to be addressed down the line. He provides a timely, comprehensive, easy-to-read report of his findings, along with numerous photos to support his conclusions. He enjoys speaking with homeowners about how to prioritize repairs, replacements and upgrades, as well as how to maintain a safe, energy-efficient home. He provides referrals to help achieve these goals when requested. Mike is a talented professional,who is easy to talk and work with.
